Once you open the box you will be very impressed with a pretty cool colorfully bright paint scheme on the body. You have the choice of picking from 3 cool paint schemes for the body, they are: blue/yellow, red/green, and red/yellow.

The awesome thing about Redcat is that they will pre-supply you with decals, and pre-applied stickers, this is great for people that want to buy this and just get it out of the box and start having fun. But if you are the type of person that likes to have a custom body then that is not so great. For instance, the sticker might not be applied straight and they might not be in the place which you would like them. Aslo there isn’t a decal sheet, so your are pretty much limited to what is in the box and pre-applied.

One thing you will notice about the body is there is no opening for the engine, and the exhaust is touching the body, but those are very easy to fix.

One of the great things about the Redcat Avalanche XP Nitro is that the transmitter included is better than average compared to most other remote controlled monster trucks.

Here is something interesting you will notice once you take the body off, is this particular Redcat nitro car shares its chassis from other models that are in their lineup. But that isn’t the greatest benefit, the greatest benefit is from having bigger tires, stronger towers and shocks.

If you are a jumper and likes to do stunts, then you will be very happy with the strong hub assembly which pretty much can’t be broken. Another thing to note is with the shocks, there are 4 adjustable shocks that are filled with oil, which means you can customize them to your liking. Which brings me to the shock towers, they are very simple to disassemble to get at the differentials and to make the correct adjustments.

The performance of the Avalanche is great, you can take this beast in just about every type of environment from dirt, mud, and stand and this RC monster truck will handle them all like a champ. Since it is lightweight and powerful from and the use of a single speed transmission it can climb up hill very quickly.
